Well… It’s a little late to be posting this. I had most of my September recap written before I left for my trip on October 1 and had every intention of finishing the post on my flight to New England. But you can see how that ended up… I’m just going to publish it today as-written—let’s just pretend I shared this two weeks ago, shall we?

What’s New?
- If you follow me on Instagram you may have heard me talk about how my apartment was looking like a Dexter-style kill room. The water heater broke and had apparently been leaking for some time, so they made me move into a hotel for two weeks as they redid all the walls and replaced the water heater. As you can imagine it was very disruptive—especially right before I was supposed to be out of town for three weeks! It’s supposedly fixed now… but the way management handled the whole situation has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.
- It turned out to be a very busy (and hectic) month, for obvious reasons. I spent a couple of days in the mountains for a work conference and then spent a week working remotely from Las Vegas to spend time with my family. It was still in the 90s in Vegas, so I took it as an opportunity to get in a few final wears for some of my more expensive summery pieces before the changing of the seasons.

Today’s Outfit
As much as I love the LensBuddy app for self-timer photos, I will say it does something funky with the quality/processing sometimes—these photos look completely airbrushed and I’m not sure why! I love going to conferences for work because a) it’s fun to get out of the office and b) I love the fashion, both putting together my own outfits and checking out what other professionals are wearing. This was my third time attending a conference at this location and by far my best accommodations—I had a condo with a balcony looking out at this lake, which doubled as a great photoshoot location.
I go back and forth about whether I think this tweed thrifted blazer is too small on me. It doesn’t feel too small, but whenever I see it photographed it makes me question the size. Today I paired it with an old-fashioned lacey top and purple pants, a combo I’ve never worn before. I finished the look with dainty citrine earrings, my birthstone. The yellow and purple pairing feels so “fall” to me!

Favorite Outfits from September
I’ve been trying to get back into the habit of taking mirror pics of my OOTDs, but this month I just so happened to do full photoshoots of both of my favorite outfits. The look on the left is another outfit I wore to the conference. This was my first time wearing this new blue top (gifted from OGL) and I absolutely love how the color matches the pinstripes of the pants perfectly. To add a little pizzazz I wore my tweed heels and a dark lip—more of this outfit coming to the blog soon! As for my second favorite look, you’ve already seen this one—I just can’t get over the beaded skirt.

What I Watched
- Pride and Prejudice (2005)—For some reason the TikTok algorithm kept giving me Mr. Darcy edits, so I decided it was about time I watched the movie. I didn’t think I would like it but damn… it gave me some warm fuzzies. Makes me think I should really start watching more feel-good things instead of dark, depressing shows all the time. I definitely need to watch the older one next!
- The 40-Year-Old Virgin—Honestly not as funny as I thought it would be. The best part is by far the real-life waxing scene. I feel like the movie is a lot funnier when you know which parts are completely ad-libbed, which, I learned after the fact, is a lot of it.
- Airplane!—This is not the kind of humor I find funny, but it’s such a referenced movie that I’m glad I’ve added it to my cultural knowledge.
- The Naked Gun (2025)—Again, kind of disappointing. As usual the funniest parts were what was already revealed in the trailer.
- Steel Magnolias—What a tearjerker! But I really liked the movie because of the fun and witty dialogue between the group of gal pals. I hope I live right next to a close group of friends when I’m that age.
- Land of Bad—Eh, typical war movie (with a bad title—see what I did there?). Did you know there is a third, less-known, less-attractive Hemsworth brother?? Poor guy.
- The Long Game—This was an interesting movie about a real-life coach and group of Hispanic boys in the 50s who started their high school’s first golf team. Not the best movie ever but it was an inspiring story!
What I Read
- Born a Crime by Trevor Noah—I finally finished this book at the beginning of the month, and even though it took me a while to get through it, I really enjoyed it. His stories of growing up in South Africa’s apartheid were both interesting and funny. The ending was absolutely wild!
- Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie—My boyfriend and I listened to this on our drive to Las Vegas and it was… okay. The ending felt really anticlimactic to me.
September Spotify Playlist
September’s playlist has a lot of new-to-me songs, and for the most part it’s very moody fall vibes. I don’t remember exactly at this point but I suspect a handful of the songs came from the final episodes of “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” I also watched one episode of “Daisy Jones and the Six” (I was very bored by it) but I think a couple of the songs came from there as well.

What I’m Looking Forward to in October
- My mom and I are about to embark on our next adventure—a 10-day fall road trip through New England across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. Maine and Vermont will be two new states for me! We have so many fun things on the itinerary, including a lobster boat tour in Maine and a witch-themed photoshoot in Salem. Of course, we’re also hoping to see some beautiful fall foliage!
- I’ve found that October is a good time to travel as someone who doesn’t have kids yet because the crowds tend to be less busy. But the caveat is that it always makes my Octobers very hectic when I get back. Hopefully I’ll still be able to enjoy some leaves in Colorado and have enough time to put together a fun costume or two for spooky season! I’m realizing that October might be my favorite month of the year—I love the festivities, the crisp air, and the crunching of the leaves. It will feel especially nice after a hot summer in Colorado and a week of 90 degree weather in Vegas.
