The Skirt that Jingle-Jangles

I think I discovered my new favorite date night outfit. I told my boyfriend a couple of weeks ago that he needed to take me on some dates so I could dress up (for the sake of my percent worn, of course), and he obliged. We checked out a new-to-us beer garden in the cute town of Louisville, between Denver and Boulder.

I knew right away I wanted to style this beige beaded skirt that I bought from a boutique in Boulder at the beginning of the summer. Somehow the whole season passed without wearing it! While I have already reached for the brown tank several times this year, I’ve never styled it in a blog post before—and as you may recall, it’s a goal of mine to have featured every clothing item on the blog at least once by the end of 2025 (not gonna achieve that). The top and skirt are super cute together AND the combo worked towards both of my closet goals, a win-win.

The skirt is very different than anything I own in my closet—it’s a light color, a low-rise fit, and beaded along the hem. I absolutely love how it jingle-jangles when I walk. My boyfriend joked that he could hear me coming from a mile away. It has the dreaded “dry-clean only” tag, but dang is it cute.

I considered pairing the look with my thrifted gold wedges, another summery item I still haven’t worn yet this year (yikes), but I ultimately decided they would be too over-the-top for a casual beer garden. I’m glad I did—the sparkly sandals were a much more comfortable choice.

I finished the look with some gold earrings and a reddish clutch to keep with the muted tones, perfect for that summer-to-fall transition. I’ve been so annoyed with my hair lately that I decided on a little braided updo, which turned out surprisingly cute in the pics (no egg head here).

Unfortunately I think the skirt will already have to be retired for the year now that the cool temps have finally arrived, but I can’t wait to find more ways to style it next summer—and to be a proud outfit repeater of this look.
