Weekly Recap #38, 2024

football season sweatshirt fall fashion denim jeans sneakers

I’m excited that it’s football season again. Not because I actually care about football, but because I love having Sundays reserved—game time for my boyfriend, blogging time for me. I actually do enjoy working on my posts and content with the game on in the background, and every now and again I’ll look up to watch the play. Perhaps my favorite part of football season is after-dinner walks with the boy, pausing in the park to toss the ball around. Reminds me of overcast fall days spent roughhousing with my brothers in the backyard.

I’ve been having so few meetings at work recently, which is bad when I work from home because it generally means I don’t get dressed! Today was Launch Day for my new website and name so I spent much of it working on promotion and ensuring a smooth transition across all my platforms. I celebrated by making a mint Oreo milkshake in my Nutribullet for dessert!

I wanted this week to be all about fall transitional outfits, but I was struggling to come up with looks that are work appropriate (most of them involved too-short skirts, though I’m now realizing this skirt is also probably too short for the office). I haven’t worn this blouse since 2021 (!!!) but I’ve never gotten rid of it because I still love the style and fit—I just have a hard time knowing what to pair it with! Today I styled it with an awkwardly poofy blue skirt and some blue flats, complete with black pom pom shoe clips for a Tinker Bell moment.

Blouse: JCPenney, $15 ($1.67 per wear), last worn here | Blue Skirt: Francesca’s, $10 ($0.91 per wear), last worn here | Blue Flats: DSW, $5 ($0.14 per wear), last worn here

I lovvve how today’s outfit came together, though I don’t think the camera is doing the colors justice. I’m not sure what inspired this pairing exactly because I never pair grey and brown together. But man do I love it in this ‘fit! I quickly regretted wearing the blouse to work though because somehow the cowlneck has stretched out a lot over the years—I was stressed all day about flashing a coworker. I’ll definitely alter it somehow, either taking the sleeves up or adding a stitch somewhere in the cowl.

Blouse: Gift, $22 ($1.47 per wear), last worn here | Blazer: Clara Sunwoo, gifted for collaboration, $215 ($71.67 per wear), last worn here | Pants: JCPenney, $35 ($1.94 per wear) | Booties: Shop LC, gifted for collaboration, $80 ($2.86 per wear), last worn here

Another new-to-me fall outfit that I love! I’ve had these jeans for years and only kept them as my “working” pants—you know, for when you have a project or something and want to wear clothes you don’t care if you ruin. Well, I realized the wash and fit pf these seems to be kind of trendy this season, so I decided to break out the ol’ Levi’s for an actually cute outfit. The jacket is thrifted Ann Taylor and so unique! I grabbed dinner with some girlfriends after work and scored a couple of compliments on the look.

Striped Tee: Down East, $18 ($0.46 per wear), last worn here | Jacket: Thrifted, $16 ($2.67 per wear) | Jeans: JCPenney, $40 ($0.82 per wear), last worn here | Leopard Flats: Target, $20 ($0.59 per wear), last worn here

After work, my boyfriend and I had reservations at a new-to-us restaurant to celebrate our three-year anniversary and my new website launch. It was one of the last summery nights so I wore this colorful thrifted dress—one of my favorites! I love it with the Frye studded heels and matching black purse.

Dress: Thrifted, $9 ($1.50 per wear), last worn here | Heels: Frye via Sundance Outlet, $75 ($7.50 per wear), last worn here | Purse: Francesca’s, $20 ($0.23 per wear), last worn here

The golfing days left in the season are numbered so I decided to join my boyfriend and his friends today for a round of 18. It started to rain and got pretty chilly by the back nine but it was nice to finally experience some fall weather! I did realize I’ll be asking for golf pants for my birthday, though, since all I have are fun summery dresses.

Kept things super casual today for a day of errands. It was supposed to be gloomy and overcast (something I was actually looking forward to!) but ended up being a gorgeous fall day, too warm for a sweatshirt and jeans.

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite?

Miles of smiles,
