Weekly Recap #22, 2024

I’ve been really bad about remembering to take cover photos for my weekly recaps lately, so today I’m resharing a pic from the Bridgerton Ball my aunt and I attended for my birthday a couple of years ago. My social media feed has been overrun by Bridgerton, and even though I’m already sick of it, I can’t help but fantasize about a dreamy Bridgerton-themed garden party or bachelorette… Everything about the show, from the people to the costumes to the sets, is so beautiful!

I got some blog photos taken in the morning (outfit is a sneak peek of what’s coming tomorrow in my monthly recap) and spent the afternoon lounging by the pool, the perfect Memorial Day activity. I’m so excited it’s finally summer!!

I worked from home today and just wore athletic clothes (boo).

This morning I drove about an hour and a half to Keystone, Colorado, for a work conference. The conference itself was a little disappointing, but I always love getting to travel and “work” outside the office. A couple of my coworkers also went so we grabbed dinner together both nights.

What do you think about a hot pink blazer—is it unprofessional? It’s not like I’m a lawyer or anything fancy, so I feel like it’s fineee… but I do wonder if it was too bold a choice for a conference.

Whipped out another pink blazer for Day 2 of the conference, but this one is much more acceptable (and one of my favorite pieces of clothing). I mean, pearl buttons and pink tweed? What’s not to like?! We drove to nearby Frisco for dinner tonight, which I think is such a cute town. The sun setting behind the mountains was so beautiful, but I didn’t try to snap a pic for once… just enjoyed it.

White Blouse: Thrifted, $11 ($2.20 per wear), last worn here | Light Pink Blazer: Macy’s, $130 ($26 per wear), last worn here | Dark Wash Jeans: Express, $25 ($0.50 per wear), last worn here | White Mules: Rebecca Minkoff via Saks Off Fifth, $70 ($1.49 per wear), last worn here

Friday, May 31

I woke up, checked out of my hotel, and made my way back to Denver. This was my first time driving through the Rockies in my new car (one that actually has some get-up-and-go) and boy did it feel good! I was originally planning on going to a few more sessions this morning, hence my professional outfit. I got this chartreuse sweater for my birthday and really love the color, even though I haven’t worn it that much yet.

Sweater: Banana Republic, $45 ($11.25 per wear) | Polka Dot Trousers: JCPenney, $19 ($0.63 per wear), last worn here | Black Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($4.76 per wear)

After attending a couple of strategic planning retreats at work earlier in the month, I was feeling really inspired and decided to do a strategic planning “retreat” for myself. I’ve been feeling a little lost and overwhelmed lately, so I wanted to have a goal-setting session to reassess my priorities, examine how I’m spending my time, etc. I’ve been slowly planning it all month and finally held my one-woman retreat today! Complete with lots of sticky notes and poster boards.

Unfortunately, I did a poor job of estimating how long each part of the retreat would take, so I only finished Phase 1 (of two). I’ll have to revisit early next week to complete the rest of what I had planned. I think the retreat would have been more effective had I done it in one sitting, but so far I think it’s been a really enlightening process!

Sunday, June 2

After a busy morning running errands, I met up with some friends in the early afternoon for drinks and snacks. We had such a great time that somehow five hours passed and we didn’t even realize it! This outfit was a new combo for me, and while the white button top wasn’t my first choice with these shorts, I actually think it turned out pretty cute. I completely forgot about these turquoise shorts but was excited to rediscover them in the bottom of my drawer. They’re the perfect length for me—I really need to find some new shorts options for this summer because these are the only ones I’ve worn so far this season that don’t make me feel self-conscience.

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Got a couple of professional and summery options! I love Monday’s look and am excited to share more of that outfit in tomorrow’s blog post.

Miles of smiles,
