Getting to my 42nd weekly recap an entire week late this time—whoops! I arrived back in Denver from my vacation Tuesday night and have been playing catch up ever since (though, if I’m being honest, I haven’t been playing that hard—the lovely fall weather and spooky festivities have made me very unmotivated to get any work done). I absolutely love all the outfits I put together for my trip so I can’t wait to hear which ones are your favorite!
Monday Oct. 14 and Tuesday Oct. 15
I worked from home for my two-day work week and spent the evenings scrambling around the apartment trying to tackle my to-do list before vacation. I’ve fallen off my workout grind this month, so I made it a point to exercise these two days before a week of eating and travel—hence the lack of outfits.

I met my mom at the airport and we started our vacation with a two hour flight to Little Rock, Arkansas! Once there we rented a car, checked into our hotel, visited Little Rock Central High School, and toured the oldest surviving capital building west of the Mississippi. I think this outfit is cute in theory (I wore something similar in this weekly recap) but I’m not sure I loved it today… I just wasn’t happy with how I looked in the pictures we took out and about.

Today was busy busy with a two-hour drive to Crater of Diamonds State Park and then exploring one of only three purse museums in the world in the afternoon—more on both of those fun activities in my upcoming road trip recap.
I historically have not been a fan of the denim on denim look, but I decided to give it a try today with blue denim—and I don’t hate how it turned out. I paired it with a white fringe bodysuit and my cowgirl boots to keep with the western vibe. I also wore a green hair scarf on the day but forgot to put it on for this mirror pic.
White Fringe Bodysuit: Cavender’s, $26 ($8.67 per wear), last worn here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.09 per wear), last worn here | Straight Leg Jeans: Express, $15 ($0.33 per wear), last worn here | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, $180 ($8.57 per wear), last worn here

We spent today driving through Mississippi, stopping in Oxford and Tupelo, before continuing on to Birmingham, Alabama. You wouldn’t think these pants are very versatile, but I don’t think I’ve ever worn them with the same top twice. I loved the more casual look today with a plain white tee. These pants are one of my favorite things in my closet!!
White Tee: Old Navy, $8 ($2.67 per wear) | Printed Pants: Cavender’s, $70 ($11.67 per wear) | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, $180 ($8.18 per wear), last worn here

We drove about an hour to Montgomery today to see the Legacy Sites and spent the afternoon visiting Civil Rights locations in both Montgomery and Birmingham. This striped sweater is one of my favorite fall clothing items and I think it pairs so well with my cowgirl boots. If you saw my packing Reel, you know I was concerned about my boots not being comfortable enough. I guess it took about 22 wears to finally break them in because I ended up wearing them every single day with no problems. I’m so excited they’re finally comfortable!
Sweater: DR2 by Daniel Rainn, gifted for collaboration, last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($0.51 per wear), last worn here | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, $180 ($7.83 per wear), last worn here

Sunday, October 20
Another driving-heavy day, we left Birmingham and arrived in Savannah, Georgia, our final destination. Since I knew we’d be in the car most of the day I thought this dress would be a good outfit (though I did still wear compression shorts underneath it since it’s pretty short). I’ve never worn it with my boots before but I think it made for a cute western-inspired look.
Dress: Francesca’s, $5 ($0.31 per wear), last worn here | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, $180 ($7.50 per wear), last worn here | Belt: Thrifted, $3 ($0.27 per wear), last worn here
. . . . .
