I’m finally getting into the fall spirit! My aunt and I drove up to Guanella Pass this week, and we had such a great day catching up, having a fall picnic, and taking photos. I didn’t edit the colors in this pic at all—that’s really how yellow the aspens were! With the weather being so warm still I’ve been having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it’s already time for alllll the fall things. But October’s only a few days away… So I’m finally prepared to roll up my sleeves and schedule a day at the pumpkin patch, my annual picnic in the park, and a trip to a haunted house. What’s your favorite fall activity?

This dress is one of my go-to pieces in the summer, so I attempted to style it today for early fall by adding my denim jacket and some black sandals instead of my usual white pair. Originally I tried on the dress with a black denim jacket, but something about the combo just didn’t look right.

It was my mission this week to wear at least two of the three new pairs of shoes I bought at TJ Maxx last weekend! And I succeeded. Originally I envisioned this outfit with my dark wash cropped flared jeans but quickly realized they were in the bottom of the dirty clothes hamper. I turned to these grey jeans instead, and I while I wasn’t sure of the combo at first, I think I actually really like it. The chartreuse sweater is such a pretty color for fall and pairs perfectly with my metallic flats (not quite gold and not quite silver, so they go with everything).

I reached for the same sweater as yesterday but in this very soft purple color! I again decided to wear new shoes, this time a very Chanel-esque tweed pair with patent leather toes. I’m not sure if the shoes really go with this outfit, but the sweater and pinstripe pants was the first combo I thought of… and since I really wanted to wear the heels, I just went for it.

My aunt and I drove into the mountains today to see the changing aspens and boy, was it gorgeous! I think we were there at the perfect time of year and since it was a weekday it wasn’t nearly as crowded. I shot two looks while there, including this outfit, which is my attempt at being trendy. I’ll limit my comments about the look because I’m sure I’ll talk more about it in an upcoming post!

I went to Blackhawk tonight, the nearby casino town, for a friend’s birthday. When I visited before the vibe was pretty casual, so I knew I didn’t want to wear anything too over-the-top. But of course, I still wanted something a little fun for a night of gambling. I landed on this rose gold sequin top with grey bootcut jeans to dress it down. And rose gold sandals for a very matchy-matchy look. This was a last-minute outfit idea but I love how it turned out! I think it could be a contender for my birthday in November.

After a lazy, sleepy morning coming back from the casinos, I just wanted to throw on something low-effort—hence why I landed on this maxi dress. It’s very summery but warranted, I feel, since it was in the high 80s today!

Sunday, September 29
I slept in SO late and spent the afternoon catching up on all the things I didn’t do the rest of the week… No proper outfit, which is my MO for Sundays.
. . . . .
Which of this week’s looks is your favorite?
Miles of smiles,
Grace
