I had the absolute best weekend in Grand Junction with one of my closest friends. Not only was it exciting to take my new car in her first proper road trip, but the two of us squeezed in so many activities into just a few short days, including golf, my first yard sale, a water balloon fight, and of course, a little bit of shopping. I know I’ve said this before, but I think summer might be my new favorite season… I’ve just been feeling so inspired and nostalgic lately!

Monday, June 3
I had a very hectic work-from-home day and just wanted to wear something comfy, hence these flowy pants from Clara Sunwoo. They’re a little big on me, which is why I haven’t reached for them before, but I’m planning on styling them a lot more this summer to get that cost per wear down!

After a stressful morning at work, the rest of the day was a breeze, and I even got a chance to go for a long walk in the afternoon. I don’t think I’ve worn this combo before but I thought it was a cute take on something monochromatic!

At work today I helped throw a baby shower for one of my coworkers—if I didn’t have my blog, I would definitely start a party planning business (I still want to, I just can’t take anything else on at the moment). I’ve worn this dress to work several times before, but something about today made me realize it’s just too short for the office (though I got tons of compliments on both the dress and my ladybug brooch from QueenMee).

I had a hectic first half of the day at work and then took the afternoon off to drive the four hours to Grand Junction. My friend recently got a house, so of course I had to go see it and attend her housewarming party. I usually wear white with these navy pants but I wanted to try something different today… I like the print of this top and think the colors go, but the tee is so long—I tried tucking it in, I tried the “crop it by tucking into your bra” trick, but I wasn’t loving either. Not sure I would wear this combo again, unless I had a cute belt to pair with it (is it just me or does tucking something into an elastic waistband seem weird?).

We both worked from home today (I wore another outfit that feels like pajamas but is socially acceptable) and then went golfing after dinner, completing nine holes. We had never been golfing together and it was so much fun, especially because we had the last tee time of the day with nobody behind us or paired with us.

We spent the morning hosting a yard sale, another first for me. I tried selling some clothes from my Closet Clean-Out Series, but, unsurprisingly, wasn’t super successful—I think I will have much better luck trying to sell them on Poshmark. I wanted to be comfy today since it was hot out, so I opted for these printed shorts and a black bungee tank.

After running some errands and cleaning up, people started arriving for the housewarming party! We walked to a nearby park and a had huge water balloon fight, which everyone loved and said they hadn’t done in years. The rest of the night we just hung out and played games. I wanted to look cute for the party yet knew I’d be running around for the water balloon fight… but I ended up regretting all my outfit choices. This look is cute, yes, but I think my boobs shrunk since the last time I wore the top, so bending over was a risky maneuver, especially during the water balloon fight. I also desperately need to find some new denim shorts to replace this pair—they’re just too short for my comfort now.

Sunday, June 9
We had a slower morning and did a little shopping downtown before I hit the road back to Denver. I think dresses are some of the most comfortable things to wear (especially on car rides) so I threw on this maxi for the day. My friend was also getting rid of this unique pair of sandals, and while I’ve been trying to get rid of some items in my closet, I couldn’t help but take these off her hands…

. . . . .
Which of this week’s summery outfits is your favorite? I think mine is the look I wore to the yard sale—stylish but without sacrificing comfort. As always, thanks for stopping by the blog today.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
