Weekly Recap #17, 2024

I somehow didn’t take any photos this week, so I’m just reusing one from Tuesday’s photoshoot for today’s cover photo. My dad’s been in town this weekend, so we’ve been busy catching up, trying to squeeze in some fun despite the crappy weekend weather and going to my favorite Denver restaurant, Wash Park Grille. I also on a whim decided to start a 28-day wall Pilates challenge this week (yes, I saw a bunch of ads on Instagram which inspired me to find a free YouTube version), and I think it’s going well so far! I can start to feel one ab trying to poke through the surface.

I started my week with a rather frustrating trip to the DMV (is there really any other way?), but at least my car chores are completely done now; Winnie’s all registered and everythang. I wore this outfit to brunch yesterday and it was admittedly still on the floor this morning… so I just decided to throw it back on for something easy. The weather was back to being spring-like, with the sweet hint of flowering trees in the breeze, so I did a little work on the deck and went for a run in the afternoon.

You’ve already seen this outfit, but I photographed it for Wednesday’s post right after work on Tuesday. I imagined wearing a white tee or tank underneath but didn’t realize all my white pieces aside from this fringe bodysuit were in the dirty clothes hamper. While it wasn’t my first choice, I do think the tucked-in fringe makes for an interesting texture under the sweater. I haven’t been reaching for my skinny jeans anymore, but I do still pull them out to pair with tall boots.

Fringe Bodysuit: Cavender’s, $26 ($13.00 per wear), last worn here | Cardigan: Unknown, $30 ($0.63 per wear), last worn here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($0.53 per wear), last worn here | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, $180 ($10.59 per wear), last worn here

I have a huge collection of scarves, some warm and some lighter weight, which I always forget to wear! This white gauzy one was a gift from my aunt that she purchased while on a trip to Italy. I think it’s so springy and would look even cuter with a more monochromatic outfit next time.

Dress: Hand-me-down, last worn here | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.09 per wear), last worn here | Shoes: UIN Footwear, gifted for collaboration, $95 ($11.88 per wear), last worn here | Scarf: Gift, from Italy, last worn here

I decided to work from home today before heading over to my aunt’s house for dinner with the family and my dad. I thought the pink and navy would make a cute combo, but I question if the casual fabrics/styles make the top and pants combo look more like pajamas… It certainly felt comfy enough to be PJs.

Pink Tee: Old Navy, $8 ($4.00 per wear) | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.09 per wear), last worn here | Navy Pants: Gift, from India, last worn here | White Sandals: DSW, $45 ($0.45 per wear), last worn here

I didn’t leave the house today except for a doctor’s appointment, but hey, why not look cute even for that? I love how this outfit came together—it would be rather plain without the fun fuzzy sneakers.

Sweater: Old Navy, $19 ($9.50 per wear) | Jeans: Express, $25 ($0.52 per wear), last worn here | Fluffy Sneakers: Thrifted, $20 ($2.00 per wear), last worn here

I got up bright and early to go to my cousin’s 8 am basketball game and then spent much of the morning hanging with him and my dad. As you can tell from my layers, we reverted back to winter today! First it was pouring rain but transitioned into snow by midday. I knew I wanted to wear this light purple sweater and ended up pairing it with an otherwise monochromatic ensemble, complete with a Love Your Melon beanie.

Purple Sweater: Banana Republic, $45 ($22.50 per wear) | Leather Jacket: Blank NYC via local boutique, $25 ($0.38 per wear), last worn here | Grey Jeans: Express, $24 ($3.00 per wear) | Black Boots: Vivaia, gifted for collaboration, $140 ($2.41 per wear), last worn here | Grey Beanie: Love Your Melon, $30 ($2.50 per wear), last worn here

It said it was only 45 degrees today when I left the house at 11 to go shopping with my girlfriends, but I ended up regretting my outfit so much—I was burning up in this sweater and jeans later in the day! While I’m not usually one to pair beige with grey, I do think the taupe booties helped pull the look together. It’s just not the springiest fit ever (regular blue jeans would have been better but all of mine were dirty).

Argyle Sweater: Gift, last worn here | Grey Jeans: Express, $24 ($2.67 per wear) | Booties: Shop LC, gifted for collaboration, $80 ($2.96 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Mine has to be the baby pink sweater and jeans combo!

Miles of smiles,
Grace

    1. It does seem to work!

  2. I actually really like Thursday’s outfit, it’s casual and the two shades of blue complement the pink so well.

    1. Thanks Frieda!
