March 2026 Month in Review

Happy Easter to all who celebrate! My boyfriend and I made brunch this morning (eggs benedict and chocolate chip banana pancakes, what a treat) and spent the afternoon setting up egg hunts for each other. Never too old to hunt some Easter eggs, I say! And it was the perfect excuse to put on a pretty dress.

What’s New?

I know I said in January’s recap that I didn’t want to skip any of these monthly blog posts (even if that meant posting it really late) and then I went and skipped February’s post entirely… While I was writing my February recap I just decided none of it even made sense if I’m writing it three weeks late. “What I’m looking forward to in March?” Well, at this point March is nearly over, so all the things I was excited for have already happened…

The truth is, I’ve been feeling really stuck with Grace per Wear the past month. I feel so disconnected from my audience and like my content just isn’t cutting it anymore. Last year, I started posting every day, which did wonders for my engagement and growth. This year, my big personal goal is to “do less” and reduce stress, and part of that was to stop posting daily (it’s just unsustainable). While I have been feeling less stressed as a result of reducing my posting, I’ve also felt the negative impacts—less connection with my audience, absolutely no growth, and less variety in my content. If I’m not growing and not getting much engagement from my followers, then I question what the point of posting is at all?

The way I see it, there are three paths forward. One: Go back to posting every day, which was a lot but made me feel more fulfilled in the sense that my account was growing and connecting with new people. Two: Accept that this is just a hobby and find joy in posting, even if it means no growth or engagement (so far this is proving very difficult). Three: Finally throw in the towel and pursue new things.

I’ve been hearing of a lot of other content creators feeling similarly disconnected with their audiences, so I’m not sure if it’s just something in the air or something wrong with my strategy. It’s been weighing on me a lot recently, so we’ll see if the tides turn at all in April!

Today’s Outfit

How cute is this outfit?! My mom got it for me for Christmas—the sweater, pants, sneakers, and bag. I loved the days as a kid where my mom or grandma would surprise me with a new, complete outfit, so it was fun to kind of relive that feeling. This makes for such a comfy casual weekend look, dressed up a little with the fun hoop earrings and bubble braid. I’ve already gotten so many compliments on the hooded sweater from Boot Barn. And the quilted bag makes me feel so trendy!

Favorite Outfits from March

When I was looking through my March outfits the other day I was a little disappointed to realize I didn’t have that many “wow” looks. I guess I gotta step up my game in April! The outfit on the left was an obvious stand-out, which is what I wore for the Oscars viewing party by boyfriend and I “hosted” for just the two of us. The dress was a hand-me-down from one of my cousins that I got tailored for my senior prom. I tried it on when I was in Boise at the beginning of the month and could not believe it still fits! This was only the second time I’ve ever worn it.

The other outfit I wore on the last day of the month (I wore only dresses this past week). I love how old fashioned it is, and for once I was having a good hair day to go with it. I have on citrine earrings and paired the look with a pop of red in my Kate Spade purse. So chic!

Percent Worn Update

Today marks the end of Week 14 of the year (I’m a “the week starts on Monday” type of person) and I’ve already reached 56% of my closet worn! For reference, last year I didn’t surpass 50% until Week 23, so I am way ahead of schedule. As I discussed in this video, one of my new strategies for 2026 is to wear as many winter accessories as possible during the beginning of the year when it’s still cold, rather than waiting for winter to start again in November and December. I’ve been doing my best (80% of tights worn, 63% of scarves, 63% of gloves) but Denver has had a freakishly warm winter, making it difficult to style my colder weather pieces. I’m hoping for a few more chilly days in April before summer really starts so I can knock off a couple more items.

What I Watched

  • Bridgerton Season 4—While Benedict’s story felt very much like a version of Cinderella, I still enjoyed it. Either the first or second season of Bridgerton is my favorite, followed by this one, and then Penelope’s season is last (I think we can all agree that was the worst one by far).
  • KPop Demon Hunters—I had a hard time getting into this movie… Honestly, I still don’t really get the hype, but I did like it more by the end. The music was great.
  • A Big Bold Beautiful Journey—I was very disappointed by this Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell movie. It was trying so hard to be artsy but ultimately did not do anything for me. Waste of two hours.
  • Young Sherlock—I watched this show with my parents. I was skeptical at first, but I didn’t mind it by the end. Funny that Guy Ritchie directed this as well as the two Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr. (those, I love).
  • 28 Days Later—I thought this movie was a bit slow but very suspenseful, definitely the best of the series (though I haven’t seen Bone Temple yet).
  • 28 Weeks Later—This one was the worst of the three I’ve seen, but I think it’s really interesting to explore the same phenomenon at three different timepoints. The movies have completely different vibes (understandably) but I kind of like that.
  • 28 Years Later—I loved Ralph Fiennes’ character in this movie and am excited to see Bone Temple once it’s available to rent. (Not that this film was particularly good, but I did find it very entertaining.)
  • Project Hail Mary—I love this book and think they did a great job adapting it! There are a few areas that I think probably don’t make a ton of sense if you haven’t read the book, but overall I thought it was really good (and so refreshing to see a feel-good movie). Rocky looked just how I imagined him while reading. Amaze amaze amaze!

What I Read

  • The Duke and I by Julia Quinn—I love the show Bridgerton enough that I decided it’s finally time for me to read the books. I liked the first one a lot and was thankful that it wasn’t too smutty (not my thing). I think the romance was better in the book, but overall I find the show more entertaining. I’m excited to keep reading to see how the timelines start to overlap. In the book, it’s really just about the Duke and Daphne—there are very few other characters and no side plots. Quite different than the show (necessarily, I would think—it’d be boring to watch a show with just two characters), but I’m curious to see if all the show’s side plots turn out to be in other books or if they were created just for the adaptation.
  • The Alibi by Sandra Brown—This book was on the New York Times bestseller list the year I was born, 1999, which is why I chose it for my book club for the month of March. I should have done more research into it because what I thought was a murder mystery turned out to have so much sex! I do think the book was well-written, but I just really hated reading the saucy bits. This book had no business having more smut in it than the Bridgerton novel… Overall, a perfectly serviceable read but nothing I would write home about.

March Spotify Playlist

My March playlist has a lot of Bee Gees because when I was home in Boise, my parents and I watched some rerun of a Bee Gees special. Did you know Bee Gees stands for “Brothers Gibb”? I had no idea they were brothers!

What I’ve Been Loving Lately

A fun activity I did with my parents when I was home was a Deadbolt Mystery Society box. If you haven’t heard of the Deadbolt Mystery Society before, they sell these packages that are kind of like an at-home escape room. There is a mystery you have to solve, and everything you need to solve it comes in the box (evidence like posters, business cards, letters, etc.). It’s such a fun way to spend an afternoon at home!

What I’m Looking Forward to in April

  • My friend is having her baby shower in a couple of weeks! I’ve never been to a baby shower before, so I’m excited to see what it’s like and to celebrate the soon-to-be arrival of her little girl.
  • Later that same day, my brother, sister-in-law, and I are going to a soccer game to see Denver’s new women’s professional team play. Apparently their first game a couple of weekends ago broke the record for single-game attendance for the National Women’s Soccer League, which is pretty cool!
  • I’m going on a work trip to Bethesda, Maryland, at the end of the month. I’m hoping I’ll be able to sneak away in the evenings to see a couple of the sites in D.C., but Bethesda is just far enough away without a car, so we’ll see.

One response to “March 2026 Month in Review”

  1. I love your cozy outfit! I am fall for these types of outfits on the week! I enjoy reading your recap. I hope you don’t quit sharing with us, but I know a lot of people who don’t blog and post for making money get frustrated about their growth. I do it for the fun and the connections! On that note, I hope we can meet up for coffee or something when we are in Colorado this summer. We are splitting our time between Colorado Springs and Denver, but I know we are not staying in Denver itself. We may spend a day doing stuff in the city.
