Today was the first day that really felt like spring to me here in Denver! I can’t help but be in a good mood when the weather starts to warm, the birds are chirpier than usual, and the distinct fishy smell of Ginkgo trees returns to the air. Of course, I know there will be at least one May snowstorm as there always is in Colorado, but for now I will revel in the 60-70 degree weather as I break out my favorite sundresses and sandals.

What’s New?
The biggest update from March is that I spent two weeks of it in Spain! It was my grandpa’s 90th birthday wish to go to Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, to see where his parents were from. My dad and I decided to go a week early to visit southern Spain (Sevilla, Granada, and Málaga), and then we flew to Tenerife to meet up with several extended family members. I was feeling a lot of stress about the trip leading up to it, but it turned out to be everything I hoped for and more. I’m still working on my travel recap blog posts but I’m planning to get those up this week.
The highlight was going to a cemetery to find my great grandma’s grave and leaving having met an alive-and-well distant family member! We talked to the groundskeeper of the cemetery, who led us to a lawyer in town, who told us to meet this guy in the square, which eventually led to us meeting an 89-year-old man, who pulled out a massive family tree, who we believe is my grandpa’s cousin. It was like something out of a movie!

Today’s Outfit
Isn’t this outfit fabulous? Both the jacket and jumpsuit were sent to me by Clara Sunwoo for a collaboration—I have quite a few of their pieces and love them all. I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of their signature liquid leather jackets for a while now, and it did not disappoint!! The bold cobalt blue is such a pretty color, and I’m obsessed with the studs (I think studs are going to be a big trend this season).
I know from their website that this jumpsuit is intended to be a layering piece over a top, since the neckline is so low, but I decided to pair it with a lacy bralette for a date night outfit instead. I probably wouldn’t wear this combo without the jacket, but with the jacket I think it’s the perfect peep of skin. I added a secondhand chain belt and some studded heels to match. I’m thinking about taking the straps in a bit so the neckline isn’t so low—I just think I would wear it more on its own rather than layered—but I’m nervous my sewing skills aren’t good enough for that yet. We’ll see!

What I Bought
I did some damage souvenir shopping (see all my new pieces here) and was able to find one of the dresses online. I also worked with a couple of brands in March and had an Express gift card I needed to spend, so lots of new pieces recently!

What I Watched
- Ghosts Season 5 (British version)—We finally finished this show (the last season wasn’t available to stream for a long time) and I’m sad it’s over. I remember the first few episodes of the series being really dumb, but I promise it gets so much better. The jokes are really clever and it’s just a heartwarming, fun thing to watch, unlike so much else out there.
- Speak No Evil—I watched this James McAvoy film on the way to Spain. It was an interesting concept but the characters were so stupid! So it just wasn’t that believable.
- 13 Going on 30—Another plane film, which I had actually never seen. It was cute, pretty standard for this era of romcom (or really, any romcom).
- Playa de Lobos—I got my dad and me tickets to see the premier of this Spanish movie at the Málaga Film Festival, which was such a cool experience! All the actors came out on stage afterwards and then walked a red carpet outside. I didn’t expect to like the movie as much as I did, but it was really funny.
- Goodrich—A movie I watched on the plane back from Spain, starring Michael Keaton. It was fine. Nothing to write home about.
- Carol—My final plane movie, which was not a good choice because I found it incredibly boring. I love Cate Blanchett though, and the 1950s fashion was so pretty!
- Severance Season 2—My boyfriend and I were big Severance fans after Season 1 so it’s exciting to see how popular it’s gotten this season! While I did prefer the first season, this one was still really good and always kept me guessing. (If you’re a Severance fan checkout my innie/outie video here.)
- Squid Game Season 2—I was annoyed to hear they were making a second season of this, and while I was reluctant to watch (and found the first couple of episodes incredibly boring), I did end up really liking the character dynamics. I think I was more invested in the characters this season than I was in the first.
What I Read
I thought I would read a lot on the 8+ hour plane ride to Spain and during our time on Tenerife, but I didn’t open Wicked once! I kind of feel like I’m in a reading slump now. I did, however, listen to Tina Fey’s book Bossypants on audio. I’m not a huge fan of audiobooks, but I can manage when it’s a fun read, like a memoir, which doesn’t require following the plot closely. I found it funny and interesting! But I still like Mindy Kaling’s books better.
March Spotify Playlist
I didn’t hear a lot of songs out and about this month, but I noticed my dad listening to a playlist he made called “Soulful Dudes” on our flight back to the States… So I asked to listen to it and loved a lot of the songs, many of which were new to me. You can check out my March playlist here.

What I’m Looking Forward to in April
As much fun as I had on my big trip, I’m looking forward to not really having any plans in April! When I came back from hiking the Camino de Santiago in 2019 and when I came back from study abroad in 2022, I didn’t feel any jetlag (they say it’s easier coming back from Europe). But this time I have been really struggling… I’ve been so tired (and dehydrated) since I got back that I’m looking forward to just vegging on the couch most April weekends and hopefully getting back to my college scrapbook. Of course, I’m also very excited for spring weather!

What are you looking forward to in April? As always, thanks for stopping by the blog today! I can’t believe I didn’t share a single blog post since February’s recap… While I’ve been posting daily on Instagram and TikTok, I’ve really been neglecting my website. I need to get back into posting at least one other blog post each month!
