Weekly Recap #49, 2024

christmas tree lighting holiday season denver fashion blogger

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! While it hasn’t been that cold or snowy at all, it is fun to see all the lights starting to pop up around town. It feels like yesterday that I was getting ready to go to Palm Springs for Christmas 2023, so it’s hard to believe we’re here again. I bought a lot of my gifts this week and am getting really excited to go home for 10 days soon!

Monday, December 2

I worked remotely from Boise and then flew home in the evening. Unfortunately, my flight was delayed 4.5 hours so I didn’t get back to my apartment until 1:00am!

Tuesday, December 3

I worked from home today so I could sleep in a little after my late night. I didn’t have any meetings so I never ended up getting dressed.

chartreuse sweater banana republic grey windowpane trousers black booties vivaia work outfit

Wednesday, December 4

A simple work outfit for my first day back in the office in over a week. I used to rarely wear these thrifted windowpane trousers but now I love them! After work I had another sewing night with my sister-in-law. I’m still working on a Christmas-related project, but I have a couple of clothes I want to alter after that.

Sweater: Banana Republic, $45 ($6.43 per wear) | Grey Trousers: Thrifted, $5 ($0.56 per wear) | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted for collaboration, $140 ($2.30 per wear), last worn here

light pink sweater houndstooth pants red flats rothys

Thursday, December 5

I should have known better—I think I’ve worn this outfit before and didn’t love the red and pink combo then. I’m still not sure I love it, but I think my charm necklace (with a couple of red charms) helps tie the shoes into the rest of the outfit.

Pink Sweater: JCPenney, $18 ($0.27 per wear), last worn here | Houndstooth Pants: JCPenney, $19 ($0.68 per wear), last worn here | Red Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($4.55 per wear)

running outfit workout set target joy lab athletic clothes

Friday, December 6

It was a very quiet work-from-home day, so I just wore this Target JoyLab workout set and went for a run in the evening. As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t track the cost per wear of workout clothes, tees, pajamas, etc.—only what I consider “real,” fashionable clothes. Tracking everything is too much even for me.

Saturday, December 7

I’m absolutely obsessed with this new top from Clara Sunwoo! They just sent it to me, and I love it paired with these grey jeans. It reminds me of a Monet painting. I’m not crazy about the white sneakers with this look but I only wore them because I played laser tag with some of my family to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. It was so much fun—and much more of a workout than I expected! I thought it would be like laser tag at an arcade, where the space is pretty small and you can just wear normal clothes. But that was a huge mistake. I was roasting in this outfit and should have worn a tee and gym shorts instead.

Blouse: Clara Sunwoo, gifted for collaboration, $135 ($135 per wear) | Grey Jeans: Express, $24 ($1.50 per wear) | White Sneakers: Primark, $10 ($0.30 per wear), last worn here

Saturday, December 7, Continued

I wore the Clara Sunwoo top to laser tag thinking I’d just wear it all day and not have to change for date night. But I got so sweaty during laser tag that I ended up having to change anyway, ha. I opted for this black crop top and the teal faux fur coat I thrifted while studying abroad. For something a little fun and different I threw on a statement necklace made from an old domino (it used to be my favorite necklace in middle school but I haven’t worn it in years).

My boyfriend and I went to a Christmas tree lighting (kind of lame, to be honest) and then went to do Christmas light mini golf, which was really fun. I figured this would be the warmest chance we’d get, since it was in the 50s today. It wasn’t chilly at all but it was crowded, as I’m sure everyone had the same idea as us!

Black Top: H&M, $15 ($1.15 per wear), last worn here | Faux Fur Coat: Thrifted, $18 ($2.57 per wear), last worn here | Grey Jeans: Express, $24 ($1.50 per wear) | Black Booties: Vivaia, gifted for collaboration, $140 ($2.26 per wear), last worn here

aerie velour tracksuit matching sweat set neon green white sneakers

Sunday, December 8

I’m wearing the atrocious highlighter tracksuit today—but don’t worry, I would never wear it out of the house. I can’t deny that it is super comfy for a day of chores around the apartment. I’ve just been working on blog posts all day!

Jacket: Aerie, $25 ($6.25 per wear) | Pants: Aerie, $30 ($10 per wear) | White Sneakers: Primark, $10 ($0.30 per wear), last worn here

Which of this week’s outfits is your favorite? Hope you have a great rest of your Sunday.

Miles of smiles,
Grace

  1. I love what you changed into after laser tag. So fun that you find times to wear that fun teal jacket you thrifted! We went to our Christmas parade this past week and that was a lot of fun but it was cold. Two funerals too… It was eventful! Looking forward to a quiet week of organizing and to work on Christmas shopping. The only sewing I have been doing is surgery on my kids’ stuffed animals: they have been a little too violent with them lol! Ripped seams and hanging tails!

    1. So sorry to hear about the funerals, Mireille! <3 Glad you squeezed in some fun with the Christmas parade. That's hilarious about "surgery" on the stuffed animals, ha!
