As I mentioned a couple of times in my recent weekly recaps and on social media, I have been working on rebranding my website—brainstorming changes all summer but really getting into the work these past two weeks. I am so excited today to share my new website and blog name with you. Grace Per Wear is here!!!
Graceful Rags has served me very well over the past eight years. It was a name I decided on after very little deliberation in 2016, when I was 16, after my parents finally told me I could start a blog. I didn’t want to spend any time on a name—I just wanted to start. So that’s what I did. I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with the name Graceful Rags, and this summer I was finally ready for a change—and finally ready to commit to something new.
I have tracked my clothing in a cost per wear spreadsheet since 2015 (almost a decade?!) and have included cost per wear details in every blog post since I started. It’s always been such an important part of fashion to me, but I’ve never done a good job of communicating that in my content. I’m beyond excited that now my blog’s name and vision reflect what inspired me to start my blog in the first place.
You can read more about how I started blogging and my cost per wear spreadsheet on my new About page.
I have never felt so proud of my blog before and am so happy with how the website redesign turned out. I resisted getting rid of the reverse-chronological scroll of traditional blogs for as long as possible, but I knew it was time to finally modernize. I hope you will find the increased functionality of my new website helpful (the menu now has submenu items to help you search) and that it doesn’t sacrifice the ease of finding my most recent post (it will always be in the top lefthand corner of the grid on the home page, no annoying slideshows to scroll through).
I’ve already identified a few glitches I still need to fix, but if you spot anything that isn’t working or doesn’t look right, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Otherwise, I hope you love the new name and website as much as I do, and thank you for all your support over the years.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
