It was an eventful week! Between dog sitting, only two days of work, and a wedding, the week seemed to last much longer than seven days. Our center was closed for Juneteenth, and I was already taking Friday off for the wedding… So I ended up using a floating holiday that I didn’t know I had (that would expire at the end of the month) to take Thursday off as well. I’ve never used vacation days before just to stay home, but I think I need to start doing staycations more often—it was so relaxing!

I continued my dog/house-sitting duties into this week and snuck away in the evening to pick up my brother from the airport, who was in town for a work thing. We grabbed a late dinner together and spent the night catching up! I just wore this simple dress since I was living out of a suitcase and not in the mood to try very hard.

I went into the office today—wearing this very stylish yet athletic ensemble from Club Ride—and finished out my dog duties in the evening, saying goodbye to the pup and cleaning up the house. I always love watching her because I enjoy taking her for walks and cuddling (duh), but it also reminds me how much work it is owning pets. Spending a week or two dog sitting is the perfect amount of pet time for me!

I had the best day off, sleeping in, scrapbooking all day, and binging a new show, “The Boys” (it’s the most graphic thing I’ve ever seen—I would not recommend to most people). I never got dressed!

Today was more of the same—scrapbooking and “The Boys,” although I felt a little guilty about wasting the day away this time. I love wearing this red athletic dress on days when I’m just lounging around the apartment.

I thought I’d be able to be productive this morning, but then I realized the wedding started at 4pm and was more than an hour drive away… So suddenly the idea of “getting ready in the late afternoon,” became “Oh my gosh, I need to start getting ready right now!” I’ve been trying to be better lately about starting to get ready really early so I’m not rushing and stressed out, but I definitely failed today…
I was so excited to finally get to wear this dress again that I bought for my brother’s wedding. The cost per wear is still really high, but hey, a second wear is better than only one! I was worried it would be too fancy for the event but I didn’t feel that overdressed. The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time celebrating our friends.

On the drive back from the wedding this morning we stopped at my favorite local gluten-free bakery, Deby’s Gluten-Free, since it was on the drive home. I got some frozen breakfast sandwiches, a maple bar, a crème-filled donut, a jelly-filled donut, and an apple streusel cinnamon roll!! I was in heaven. I spent the rest of the day lounging around the apartment and started listing items to Poshmark, an experience I’ll be sharing more about in an upcoming Reel.

My boyfriend, a couple of friends, and I spent the afternoon golfing in 94 degree weather—needless to say, I did not play my best… But hey, at least I looked cute! This athletic dress is from Amazon, and I have it in two colors. It has matching shorts underneath with pockets—perfect for extra balls, tees, etc. I thought it would double as a cute tennis dress, but I wore it on the courts once only to find that the shorts kept riding up. Maybe if I wore different compression shorts underneath it would work, but I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this dress solely for tennis. I love it for golfing though.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, and I hope you had a great week.
Miles of smiles,
