Weekly Recap #11, 2024

Well, I don’t have many outfits to share this week… Between feeling sick on Monday and being snowed in on Thursday and Friday, I just didn’t get dressed much! I do really like two of my outfits, though, so at least there’s something worth sharing.

Monday, March 11

I had big plans to start my week off right and be super productive, but I came down with a migraine in the morning… and ended up sleeping most of the afternoon. This is only the second time I’ve ever gotten a migraine, and they don’t run in my immediate family. So I’m hoping it was just a fluke and that it doesn’t become a regular thing!

Today was busy playing catch up! I started my morning by taking some quick blog photos before work, which I never do, but I’m so glad I did—I was able to capture the last of the good lighting before it became gloomy for days. I knew I would be changing in the car after the photos and driving straight to work, so I just packed a very simple monochromatic look that would be easy to slip into in my backseat. Boring, yes, but necessary. I also tried curling my curtain bangs again, and while this is the best they’ve turned out, they still weren’t quite the right shape.

I love how today’s outfit turned out, and it’s deceptively comfy, too! I realized I hadn’t worn this blue peacoat hardly at all yet this season so that was my inspiration. I paired it with a plain short-sleeve white sweater and my leggings-like trousers from Clara Sunwoo. I think this ‘fit would have been really cute paired with my white mules, but I knew I’d be running a bunch of errands after work (preparing for the snowstorm) and wanted my feet to be as comfy as possible.

White Sweater: Bohme, $30 ($2.14 per wear), last worn here | Blue Peacoat: Francesca’s, $40 ($1.60 per wear), last worn here | Black Pants: Clara Sunwoo, gifted for collaboration, $109 ($21.80 per wear), last worn here, buy here with code GraceG for 10% off | Black Flats: Rothy’s, $100 ($7.14 per wear)

Thursday, March 14

Our campus was closed today for a snow day, so I worked from home. And because a lot of my coworkers had to take care of their children, my meetings were also rescheduled! Since I didn’t have to wear anything even remotely work appropriate, I opted for these obnoxious green sweatpants and a beanie. I don’t usually have very cute “lounge about the house” outfits, but I actually really like how this one turned out. It didn’t snow quite as much where I live, but some of my coworkers got 20 inches!

Black Tee: Old Navy, $8 ($8 per wear) | Neon Green Sweatpants: Aerie, $30 ($15 per wear) | Beanie: Freebie from cross country race

Friday, March 15

Surprise surprise, another snow day spent inside. This time I didn’t get dressed at all, woops! It was really hard to stay focused and motivated with the cozy weather and knowing that a lot of my coworkers were taking time off again.

Saturday, March 16

I spent the morning filming Reels and TikToks (making a disaster out of my apartment in the process) and then went for a long walk “with my mom” in the afternoon—we just called and talked the whole time while walking in our separate states; it was really fun. It was a gorgeous day out, and a lot of the snow on the sidewalks had already melted. I also noticed this cute snow dog in the middle of the park!

Sunday, March 17

I’m obsessed with how this outfit turned out. My boyfriend and I went to a barbeque at a friend’s house tonight so of course I had to wear green. The top I would normally wear for St. Patrick’s Day was dirty, so I opted for this boho scarf-style top instead. Which led me to reach for this fabulous suede fringe jacket that I got for Christmas—her maiden voyage! This pic does not do it justice, but I will definitely be wearing this outfit again.

Green Top: Unknown, $16 ($1.60 per wear), last worn here | Suede Fringe Jacket: Portland Leather, gift, buy here | Skinny Jeans: Express, $42 ($0.54 per wear), last worn here | Cowgirl Boots: Ariat via Boot Barn, $180 ($12.86 per wear), last worn here

. . . . .

Did you do anything fun for St Patty’s Day? Aside from drinking Guinness and listening to my Celtic Roots playlist, mine was pretty chill this year!

Miles of smiles,

Grace

  1. Love all that snow! A little jealous here! I do love each of your outfits this week: they are winners, I love the pops of color and that peacoat is one of my favorite of your jackets.

    1. Thanks so much, Mireille! The snow days were pretty fun.

  2. Your outfit from Sunday is indeed really cool! And thanks for sharing the snow dog. Next time we get snow – which will probably not happen until in several years – I also have to try making some snow animals instead of boring old snow people.

Just in case this could be relevant: Contraceptive pill and other hormonal contraception can cause migraine. So just in case you are using any of it, check in with your doctor. Unfortunately, a lot of women don’t seem to know this. 🙂

    1. Ha, thanks Frieda! Yes, the snow animals are much more interesting. And ooh thanks for letting me know about that, I was considering that/cycles as a possible cause!
