This past week was kind of an odd one! I spent Sunday of the previous week, Monday, and Tuesday quarantining in my flat after being exposed to Covid-19 by a couple of people. Per the rules, I didn’t have to quarantine at all because I am fully vaccinated, but I decided to play it safe just in case. Thankfully, I never tested positive! The week was also unusual because on Monday, I finally got a flat-mate, and my classes Monday and Tuesday were cancelled due to a teacher’s strike on campus. Then I spent the weekend away at the Isle of Skye, hence why I am posting my weekly recap a day late today. So yah, kind of all over the place last week!

Monday, February 21

As I said, I spent today quarantining, which was kind of a shame considering the weather was gorgeous and I didn’t have class. I decided to sleep in and then got my blog post finished and a few other chores, never even bothering to put on real clothes.

Tuesday, February 22

Another day spent inside in my cozy clothes! I was super productive today and spent most of it making progress on my thesis and on my taxes (gross). I’m glad I managed to peep outside for a minute, though, because I caught the prettiest surprise outside! Rainbows are always so exciting and magical.

Wednesday, February 23

After testing negative again this morning, I figured it was safe to end my unrequired quarantine, since it had already been three days after I was exposed. I took some blog photos and then went to City Centre to run some errands and stop at a thrift store I had passed last week on my way back from stained glass class. The cutest olive green polka dot dress that was hanging in the window had caught my eye, and I kept thinking about it… so I went back today to check it out. Sadly, it was already gone! But in the end, I didn’t leave empty ended—I got a pair of snakeskin booties and a pair of gold summery wedges for under $20.

After my little shopping spree, I rushed back to campus for my Scottish culture class and then grabbed dinner with a new friend. I really love today’s outfit aside from the belt/shoe combo. I think the two pieces kind of clash, but I needed a belt… and this snakeskin one is the only one I brought to Scotland. Otherwise, a super cute look!

Thursday, February 24

I woke up to a little snow flurry this morning and was not looking forward to the half-hour walk to downtown for my stained glass class… so I just threw on a sweater and put my hair up—lazy day outfit, indeed. I was excited to make a lot of progress on my final project in class today; I will be making the Glasgow skyline with a sunset in the background! I had a really hard time coming up with an idea for the project, but I’m so happy I landed on this. I think it will require a lot of beautiful colors of glass and will be a really special memento to take home with me.

I wanted to spend the rest of the day cozied up inside, but I decided to go to my Celtic Civilization seminar anyway (only two of us showed up) and even made it to Scottish country dancing tonight, even though I strongly considered skipping. The country dancing ball is on March 5, so I figured I shouldn’t miss any practice right before the big event.

Friday, February 25

I went to my super boring art history seminar in the afternoon and grabbed some groceries afterwards. In the evening, my friend and I met up for dinner at a Spanish restaurant (it was so fun to reminisce about my time in Spain on the Camino de Santiago) and then went to a Lumineers concert at one of Glasgow’s famous music venues, the SECC Hydro. It was SUCH a good concert!

I decided to dress up a little for the night out, wearing this maroon wrap-style crop top and my pleather jacket. I also styled my new thrifted booties! They are so cute, but they’re a little taller (and more uncomfortable) than I thought. I even put on some eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara—I figured I better start practicing since I will be doing my own makeup when I’m a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding in May. The only downside to this outfit was my hair. I was too lazy to do anything cute with it, but the braids didn’t really fit the vibe.

Saturday, February 26

I woke up bright and early this morning to go on a tour to the Isle of Skye for the weekend. I forgot to snap a photo in my outfit before I left, so this is the best pic I have! My “iconic” blue puffer coat, as one of my friend’s described it. I’ll be sharing a whole post about my visit to Isle of Skye later this week, so stay tuned for that.

Sunday, February 27

Another day in Skye, so I kept things comfy and casual with a sweater and jeans. I’ve already worn this exact ensemble so many times since being here, although I decided to French braid my hair today (keeping my normal side part, instead of parting it down the middle like I usually do with braids). I think it turned out super cute!
