Happy Thanksgiving! I thought we might have a white holiday this year, considering that it was snowing yesterday, but this morning I woke up to find only a frosty layer on the grass and a mysterious fog looming over the city. Since the food won’t be cooking itself and the pie needs to be eaten, I’ll keep things short and sweet today!

I originally planned on wearing the plaid skirt from this blog post for today’s look, but I bailed the second I saw the snow—there’s no way I’m wearing a skirt when it’s that cold outside. Instead, I opted for my trusty buffalo check button-down, which has a super cute cinch-waist detail. My mom bought me this shirt the summer before freshman year of high school. I came from a grade school with a uniform, so we had to (had to—twist my arm) go on a big shopping spree, since my high school only had a dress code instead of a uniform. I remember feeling bad because this shirt was so expensive… $30 whole dollars, ha!

I layered this coral-colored cardigan over top, being sure to cuff my shirt sleeves for a preppy detail. As much as I love this cardigan, I don’t think it’s particularly flattering on me. I always have a hard time photographing it without the sweater making me look wider than I am. Ah well.
I’m usually all about comfort and stretchy clothes on Thanksgiving, and thankfully the cinch-waist of this blouse and my stretchy jeans allow for growth after all the eating! I dressed the outfit up a little with rose gold jewelry, featuring my new Kendra Scott star necklace and these dangly, super sparkly clip-on earrings.

What are your plans for Thanksgiving? I’ll be helping my parents with the cooking, and then I think we’re supposed to Skype/play virtual games with my two brothers, who can’t be here today. You can see a few of my past Thanksgiving outfits here and here.
I might also try to get a little holiday shopping done today… but we’ll see. Do you usually participate in Black Friday shopping? I feel like I’m obligated to talk about all the sales as a fashion blogger, but at the same time, there’s already so much hype about it; why would another gift guide be necessary? Let me know your thoughts and whether or not you would find a gift guide/sales guide useful in the future.

Hope you all have a great day today and make the most of these unusual circumstances (and avoid any cooking mishaps!).
Miles of smiles,
Grace
