I know this cover photo looks like it was taken on the same day as last week’s cover photo, but I promise you it wasn’t—I really did just wear this swim coverup every single day of the cruise (and I took so few photos that there aren’t many to choose from!). I think that’s one thing I would do differently on my next cruise—buy an additional coverup, just for a little variety.

Our second and final port day on the cruise was in Ensenada, Mexico. None of the cruise-run excursions caught our eye, so we decided just to get off the ship and explore the town’s main street. We stopped at a bar for chips, guac, and cervezas, and afterwards wandered the shops—nothing very exciting though, just kitschy souvenirs and all the stores were the same. I’m glad I decided to wear this maxi and jacket today because I needed the sun protection after getting burned on Saturday.

Back on the ship, I showered and changed into one final dress for our last night on the ship. We just drank and sat on the deck, enjoying the sound of the ocean and fresh air while we still could. I bought this dress last time I was in Puerto Rico and wore it to the Denver Mini Derby—I knew the cruise would be the perfect place to break it out next. I don’t love the espadrilles with this outfit, but similar to previous nights, I just wasn’t in the mood for heels.

We offboarded from the ship, said our goodbyes to the rest of the crew, and Ubered straight to Denny’s for a much-needed greasy breakfast and to kill time before our flight. Due to storms in Denver, we had to sit on the tarmac for an hour, but thankfully it made for a quick airport exit on the backend once we did arrive. This outfit is a little fancy for a travel day, but I knew I wanted to wear pants. These sparkly ones were the only pair I packed (no pockets, though—I keep forgetting that on travel days!).
Top: Francesca’s, $5 ($1.00 per wear) | Denim Jacket: JCPenney, $19 ($0.09 per wear), last worn here | Navy Pants: Gift, last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.36 per wear), last worn here
Wednesday, August 14
I’ve never taken the day off after travel before, but per my brother’s recommendation I decided to try it this time. It was SO nice to have a day to sleep in, catch up on laundry, run errands, and all that before going back to work.
Philly Tee: Airport gift shop, $25 ($6.25 per wear) | Black Cargo Shorts: JCPenney, $16 ($0.46 per wear), last worn here | Blush Sneakers: Steve Madden via DSW, $60 ($0.41 per wear)
Thursday, August 15
I worked from home today because I had a ton of meetings! Which was honestly a welcome surprise, as it made my first day back go by really quickly, even if I couldn’t get any real work done. This is one of my favorite late-summer/early-fall outfits—the colors just scream August to me.
Sweater: DR2 by Daniel Rainn, gifted for collaboration, last worn here | Yellow Pants: JCPenney, $20 ($0.59 per wear), last worn here | Brown Sandals: DSW, $45 ($0.67 per wear), last worn here
Friday, August 16
A two-day work week ain’t too bad! I threw on something casual because my boyfriend and I met up with my brother, sister-in-law, and cousin for a barbeque in the afternoon, the perfect Friday-night-in-the-summer activity.
Purple Button Down: Club Ride, $80 ($6.15 per wear) | Khaki Shorts: JCPenney, $16 ($0.84 per wear), last worn here | Sneakers: UIN Footwear, gifted for collaboration, $95 ($7.31 per wear), last worn here

Saturday, August 17
I turned down some plans (yay me—I’m terrible at saying no) so I could catch up on a lot of to-do list items today, and I’m glad I did. I was so productive, even though I never ended up getting dressed.
Sunday, August 18
I had plans this afternoon with some girlfriends, so I just wanted a casual and simple outfit. I’m surprised the cost per wear on this dress isn’t pennies yet because I feel like I wear it all the time.
Dress: Thrifted, $20 ($1.11 per wear), last worn here | White Espadrilles: DSW, $45 ($0.36 per wear), last worn here

Are you ready for fall yet? I keep seeing some of my favorite bloggers posting fall outfits, and while they’re super cute, I’m just not ready for sweaters and boots yet… I know I said that a couple of weeks ago but even post-vacation I don’t want summer to end.
Miles of smiles,
Grace
