Weekly Recap #25, 2023

Per usual in Colorado, the weather was all over the place this week—from sunny and summer-like on Monday to baseball-sized hail and a tornado warning on Thursday… Thankfully I (and my car) managed to avoid most of the severe weather! And the sun kindly returned for a beautiful and very busy weekend.

Monday, June 19

I started the week in Grand Junction, grabbing breakfast with my friend and another college pal whom I haven’t seen in ages. After shopping around the cute downtown, I hit the road and drove the four hours back to Denver. Friends were waiting for me when I got home, and we spent the rest of our day-off poolside!

I haven’t worn this ribbed grey crop top with these shorts before, but I loved the combo—very comfy and summery.

Tuesday, June 20

The first day back at work after a long weekend is always a little rough… I wore this black mock-neck and red/beige skirt combo, which I’ve worn several times before (including exactly four years ago). I don’t love it with the jean jacket but my office is always freezing!

Wednesday, June 21

I threw on this brown dress from Charming Charlie and paired it with orange flats, purely because my toenails weren’t painted and I felt weird wearing sandals with naked nails. I don’t think I would wear the dress with these shoes again. Pink flats, on the other hand, I’d be all about.

Thursday, June 22

I dislike how awkwardly long this floral blouse is on me. Usually I would tuck it into my pants with this outfit and style it with a cute belt, but I was feeling too lazy to deal with that effort every time I went to the bathroom, lol. So untucked it is.

Friday, June 23

I just wore athletic clothes today—seems to be becoming a habit on Fridays. My boyfriend and I played tennis in the evening and then had a quiet night in.

Saturday, June 24

The boy and I drove to Estes Park today to check out the free Scandinavian Midsummer Festival! I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was so much fun (you can watch my Reel about it here). There was axe throwing, traditional dances and outfits, mead, flower crown-making, and trinkets to buy. I was so excited to wear my new overalls, and they were the perfect outfit for the festival! I paired them with a striped tee and my super comfy printed UIN shoes.

I would love to plan a whole day around the festival next year, but we had to rush home this time so I could make it to a Make-A-Wish benefits concert to volunteer. Between the live auction, silent auction, and ticket sales, they raised around $95,000!

Sunday, June 25

I spent the day golfing for the first time! We did the full 18 holes and I even parred once. I really enjoyed the golf itself, but the stress of keeping our group on pace took away from the fun a little. Since I don’t have a cute golfing dress (yet), I wore this matching purple outfit from Club Ride, an Idaho company that designs stylish cycling gear.
