As exciting as 2022 has been so far, I think June definitely takes the cake for being the most eventful month. I started June on the East Coast, visiting my friend in Boston and attending a wedding in Rhode Island. I then moved back to Denver, graduated college (still haven’t shared my graduation post yet, yikes), found an apartment, and started my first real job! Life is moving so quickly right now, and while I wish it would slow down just a wee bit, I’m beyond grateful for all this positive change. Instead of an outfit, today’s post is a compilation of some pics from throughout the month in the order they occurred. So many fond memories!
What’s New?
- I graduated from the University of Denver on June 11 with majors in Criminology and Geography and minors in Entrepreneurship and Psychology. I’m not sure it’s fully registered yet that I’m finally done with school… As excited as I am for the next stage of life, I will definitely miss my college days.
- I found an apartment! It’s a studio, but it would best be described as a one-bedroom without a door (there’s a very clear “bedroom” and “living room/kitchen” delineation, so it’s not like my bed is right next to the fridge or anything). I haven’t actually stayed the night there yet because I don’t have a bed (been crashing with my aunt instead), but my parents are coming this week to help me move all the furniture. Yay! I can’t wait to finally get settled and to start decorating.
- I just finished the second week of my job. I’m doing evaluation research and absolutely love it so far! It’s really fun and exciting when I get to use the skills and content I learned through my different degree programs. I know a lot of people who graduated undergrad and decided to do more school just to “avoid adulting”. But I don’t know, work is just like school, except you get paid for it… and don’t have to worry about homework… and the weekends are entirely yours. It’s pretty great so far, although it is taking me a while to adjust to the hours and trying to balance everything (hence the severe lack/delay of blog posts).
- My friend introduced me to Wordle at the beginning of the month and now I’m obsessed (also, yes, I only just found out about the online game in June. I live under a rock). I like to do it each morning after I wake up and am still too lazy to get out of bed…

What I Watched, Read, and Listened To
- The Boy—I finished this book at the beginning of the month while still on the East Coast and I could not. put. it. down. I usually can’t read during car rides, but I seriously couldn’t stop with this book! The novel takes place in the bayou region of Louisiana and is about a boy who is murdered. It’s a little slow in the beginning, but it picks up so much about halfway through. Highly recommend! I can’t wait to start reading for fun again once I get more settled into my new routine.
- Book of Love—I watched this movie on the plane ride back from Boston because it has Sam Clafflin (and what’s not to like about Sam Clafflin?). But the movie was trash… A really corny rom-com, don’t watch it.
- Season 4 of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”—This season still had some funny lines, but it was much more plot-driven and drama-filled than the earlier, more comedic seasons. Of course, Midge still had fabulous outfits (remember when I dressed up like her?).
- The Card Counter—This movie stars Oscar Isaac, who plays a card-counting gambler with a dark past. The film was intriguing, but I found it a little slow (my dad really liked it, though!).
- Spiderhead—This movie was a wannabe “Black Mirror” episode that just fell flat. You can pass on it.
- Dead Again—This 1991 film is a movie my dad has mentioned a few times so I finally watched it. It was interesting… But to be honest, I’m not really sure I “got it”. What was the meaning? What was the underlying philosophical debate? I don’t know.
- Season 4 of “Stranger Things”—I loved the new season! I like how it answered a lot of questions from past seasons and delved further into important backstories. Also, Eddie’s character is hilarious, and possibly my favorite part of the whole series is the evolution of 80s hair across the seasons. Part 4 was definitely way scarier, though!
- Season 2 of “Bridgerton”—This show is a guilty pleasure for sure… It’s cheesy but I love the fancy outfits and portrayal of high society. However, I think the real deciding factor if you like season 1 or 2 better is if you prefer Regé-Jean Page or Jonathan Bailey as your eye candy.
- This month’s playlist has an odd assortment of Disney songs I listened to on my road trip to Denver, instrumental covers from “Bridgerton”, and some new songs my friend introduced to me while in Boston.

What I’m Looking Forward to in July
- Well, if I had posted this on time, I would’ve said I’m excited for Independence Day… Obviously it’s a little late for that, but the holiday festivities were quite fun!
- Finally getting furniture and decorating my apartment. I’ve been spending some free time during these last two weeks organizing my stuff and filling my closet, but it will be nice to play around with arranging the furniture and finally hang some decorations on the walls.
- Just getting settled. I’m looking forward to figuring out my routine and getting more comfortable in my new space/job. Once I get all my big chores done, I’ll finally be able to relax on weeknights and weekends without feeling stressed about my to-do list!

Somehow, June beat my new high record for best performing month on the blog, which is baffling to me, considering I’ve been posting so inconsistently. Still, it’s exciting that Graceful Rags has been growing so much recently!
I don’t usually have this many fun, non-outfit photos from throughout the month, but I enjoyed compiling these unseen pics into my monthly recap. I might start doing that in future recaps as well, if you liked today’s post.
